Why Livelihood is Our Priority?
Livelihoods are the skills, possessions, and pursuits that enable people to make a living and maintain a standard of life. Our programs for food security and livelihoods are frequently delivered in conjunction with other sectors and vary substantially depending on the situation.
Disasters and crises can have a severe impact on people’s ability to eat and support their families. They can significantly reduce people’s capacity to recuperate and raise their socioeconomic vulnerability, both of which have an impact on their capacity to withstand shocks and stresses in the future. Families in vulnerable situations have run out of coping techniques after exhausting their funds, liquidating their assets, or incurring debt. They will struggle to rebuild their life and means of support without it.
Our Input
Sambal Foundation, a leader in the livelihood and job creation movement, has created distinctive positions as part of a growth model that emphasises human resources and job creation. We organise people into groups, tap into collective social capital, allow access to financial resources, offer skill development, foster entrepreneurship, and serve as a catalyst for an empowered society.
Sambal is a dual-pronged approach to help young people become valuable contributors to the economy, focusing on self-employment-based skill development and placement-linked training. Sambal has intentionally planned both of these strategies to address the demographic’s socioeconomic makeup, demand, and availability.
